March Madness

  Listen

Not the traditional basketball kind of madness, although we touch on it briefly in our opening moments. We're talking about current non-sporting events, some examples of which include:

Let's spend millions in postage to tell everyone there is a stimulus payment coming to some of us, then millions more to send another announcement to those who are going to receive the payment, then more millions to send the payments!

Geneology: This is a fascinating segment about who's who among Obama, Clinton and McCain's respective family trees, according to the New England Historic Genealogical Society, as published Wednesday on www.tmz.com and various evening news outlets. Don't miss it!

FEMA: How Many Have They Harmed? Listen up as we talk about Deepa Fernandes' "Toxic Trailers Redux: When Did Fema Know?" , published Tuesday in Mother Jones. It's absolutely sickening to think that those in the most need after Katrina may have literally been led like sheep to the known toxic cesspool of pseudo-survival.

Beware of Biowarfare: Scary indeed is Stan Cox's "Bidding War for Biowarfare Labs", published Wednesday in www.counterpunch.org. If you live in Georgia, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, or Texas, you need to be very afraid. If you live anywhere else, you need to listen in order to learn why it is you do not want a lab near you.

Chris Floyd's Double Trouble Zaparoo: Sam's fav writer lays it on with "Bush Launches Economic Shock and Awe Attack on Iran" and "Darkness At Noon", either of which is mind-boggling, but together is worthy of a very careful listen. Trust us on this.

POWs: Penny Coleman's "Pentagon Holds Thousands of Americans 'Prisoners of War' ", published Wednesday in Alternet is a quite thought-provoking glimpse into 60,000 troops stuck in a timeless warp of service, thanks to stop-loss, which can keep them there until six months after the war ends. Listen up for details.

Our plan is to return on Monday, March 31. But who knows? So enjoy what we just did. And tell you friends. After all, we might just become extinct!
