Mice-the real ones: These days, sometimes it's difficult to distinguish between mice and men. Particularly in this country. However, Sam and Deidre actually discuss the real deal called mice (and small rats) in the first segment of the podcast, thanks to an email from our buddy Janet from Washington. Stories abound. A must-listen, trust us.
Men, some of whom could possibly be referred to as mice:
"A Killer's 26 year- old secret", published by AP Saturday doesn't really fit into either category. But it is an interesting glimpse into two lawyers' painful position of silence forced upon them by ethical rules caused by their client announcing to them that he had in fact killed a security guard, leaving them with no option but to endure an innocent man's serving 26 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Sam has a solution; listen up for all the fascinating details!
Gen David Petraeus: Patrick J. Buchanan's "Petraeus Points To War With Iran", published Friday in
www.informationclearinghouse.info is quite instructional, along with Sam's finding Juan Cole's "Informed Consent", published Sunday. Cole, who is not only a professor at the University of Michigan but also is a respected author, translator and expert on foreign relations, counters much of what Petraeus told Senate and House Committees last week about Iran being a threat to the U.S. Join us for this one.
Robert Fisk's "Semantics Can't Mask Bush's Chicanery", published in Saturday's The Independent/UK is quite droll. Let us sum it up with Fisk's opening sentence of "After his latest shenanigans, I've come to the conclusion that George Bush is the first US president to march backwards". It gets better, much, much better. Tune in!
"Cheney, Torture and the Chance to Restore the Rule of Law", written by John Nicols and published Sunday in The Nation is a must- read. Or a must-listen at least. Nicols writes about former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson's attempt to grab the House Judiciary Committe's attention with a letter circulating through the internet outlining not only Cheney's trashing of the Constitution but also a list of the Bush administration's wrongs. To read and sign this letter, which makes it perfectly clear this issue is not about partisan politics, go to

Carl Blare, you are NOT a mouse! Our buddy Carl Blare,
www.kdxradio.com (or google Carl Blare) we have discovered, is going to retire his terrestial radio website on or before June 21. Join us as we read from his latest blog dated April 11, addressing "Who is Carl Blare anyway?" You need to get to know Carl before he ceases his most interesting commentary!
Obama is Definitely the Man of the Hour: We are increasingly impressed with this man. Listen up as we discuss Sunday's commentary on Meet the Press, Dave Lindorff's article on Obama's comment about Pennsylvanian's being bitter in Sunday's Commondream.org, and several articles about Hillary in Newsweek, and elsewhere.
We hope to return on Thursday, April 17. Until then, keep the faith in whatever moves you. And tell somebody about us!
