More Government Bailout: That would be Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Tune in for our divergent opinions on this mess.
Paul Craig Roberts Bashes the Grand Old Party, Again. Former Reagan Assistant Secretary of the Treasury and Wall Street Journal Associate Editorial Page Editor Roberts gets right down to it with "The Mother of All Messes", published Wednesday in
www.counterpunch.org. We urge you to read it in its entirety , either here or through Carl Blare's "Blare Blog" where it is linked. Let us just say that Roberts, although confident Democrats will also make a mess of things, doubts they can beat the currrent record, assuming there is a country left for them to mess up.
Value of American Lives Downgraded: Huh? That's right folks- you are worth about a million less than you were five years ago, according to AP's "EPA knocks $900,000 off value of a life", published July 10. Why? Some think it's to "cook the books" making the cost of imposing a new regulation to protect us outweigh the lifesaving benefits, thereby avoiding adopting the proposed regulation. Like magic, right? Listen up. Then throw up.

Seems Winnfield, Louisiana is a pretty forgiving place if you happen to be caucasian. After all, the police chief is a convicted felon, pardoned by former Gov. Edwin Edwards, who is currently serving time in a federal prison himself. Said chief hired the 21 year old cop, the son of the former chief who committed suicide after losing a close election marred by allegations of fraud and vote-buying. You get the picture. Tune in for the sorry details.
We'll be back. It's a matter of when. Possibly Monday, July 28. Thanks for your support.
