Sheep Grease Slippery Slope

  Listen

We covered a number of sheeep-related topics today. Feast on our menu:

Sheep in Reporters' Clothing: "Fake Press at Fake Press Conference About Real Fires":  Thank you David Swanson for posting this piece on www.afterdowningstreet.org Friday. We all now know how red-faced FEMA chief's Michael Chertoff must be, once FEMA deputy administrator Harvey Johnson was "outed" for having FEMA employees pose as reporters in a hastily called news conference so that Johnson could brag about FEMA's response to the California wildfires in a desperate attempt to erase FEMA's Katrina debacle. We say, obviously the assumption here is that sheep cannnot independently think.

What's Good for the Goose is also Good for the Sheep at the Pig Trough: Seems that the State Department is going to force Diplomats to serve in Iraq, according to Saturday's AP. Why? Harry Thomas, director general of the Foreign Service, says there are going to be 40-50 vacancies next year and "directed assignments" are in the offing for 200-300 diplomats to spend a year in one of the most dangerous places on the planet. Don't wanna go? Those objecting could be dismissed. We say: wonderful!  Equal opportunity should exist for all to be murdered, including diplomats.  Join us for details.

Shameful Sheep: Arianna Huffington hits a home run with "Ending the War: Time for the Dems to Play Hardball" published Friday on www.huffingtonpost.com . Join us for a discussion of a very salient point: the Dems need to stop whining about not having the votes because they DO (or should) have the votes to shut this nightmare down.
Congress also has the blood of millions of innocent victims on their hands, and they indeed have the power to stop the flow, we say.

Diabolical Sheep: This segment is a must-listen. For sure. Matt Renner's "Democratic House Officials Recruited Wealthy Conservatives", published September 6 in www.truthout.org sounds a theme we talked about in the beginning of our podcast back in 2006. It's very ugly-- and we've about decided that Repubs have their way due to their ilk being elected to Congress wearing Democratic clothing. And Rahm Emanuel is at the center of this little plot. This story is better than a pulp fiction, trust us.

Sheep May Confirm Torture/Wiretapping Waffler Mukasey as AG: We'll see how the Senate Judiciary Committee comes down on this one, as we discuss Dan Eggen's "Torture Stance Raises Doubts on Mukasey", published Saturday in the Washington Post. Listen up!

Sheep Slaughtered for Speaking Truth: According to ABC on October 18, Adm. Scott Redd, head of the National Terrorism Center resigned for medical reasons shortly after having told NBC in an interview that it was his opinion that the US was probably not safer from terrorism than it was before the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Medical problem? Knee replacement. And there was no "pressure" to resign? Come on!

We'll be back Thursday November 1. Unless we morph into sheep. Thanks for your support!
