Is The Horror Show Almost Over?

  Listen

All About Obama: We refer to the Sunday morning talk shows. We surveyed Chris Matthews, George Stephanopolis, Tom Brokaw and Bob Scheiffer, all of whom focused with various guests on what we can expect in the new administration. The big question seems to be whether President-elect Obama will come out with a big bang package of proposals or roll them out serially. Listen up for details.

It's The Economy, Bud: The centerpiece of this segment is Senator Bernie Sanders' "The Road to Economic Recovery", published Friday in The Huffington Post, in which he proposes a five part economic recovery plan which would cost a fraction of the Wall Street bailout. Pointing out the 17 million Americans who are either unemployed or underemployed, 100,000 Americans who filed for bankruptcy last month alone, and 6 million Americans who have slipped from middle class into poverty, Senator Sanders has pledged to move when the Senate reconvenes on November 17. We discuss some of the comments posted about this article, as well as throw in our personal opinions about whether anything can happen that soon, as well as the prospects for re-visiting the Wall Street bailout.

No Health Insurance Is A Killer: No joke.  This is a shocking segment. We learn depressing details from David Noonan's "No Insurance? That's a Killer", published in the November 10 edition of Newsweek, New York Times' Deborah Sontag's "Deported in Coma, Saved Back in U.S." published Sunday, and Mary Otto's "Hidden Hurt", published Sunday in the Washington Post. It's important you must listen to this!

Reversing Bush Damage With The Stroke Of A Pen: Here's a reason to be optimistic, as Ceci Connolly and R. Jeffrey Smith point out "Obama Positioned to Quickly Reverse Bush Actions" in Sunday's Washington Post. According to the authors, transition advisors to President-elect Obama have compiled a list of about 200 Bush administrative actions and executive orders that could be swiftly undone. And that list could grow! We're liking this news. A lot.

Finders Keepers? Deidre says yes, then maybe. Sam says yes, then no. This debate is legal, and centers around a Saturday AP article, "Cash found in Ohio house's walls becomes nightmare". You'll have to listen in to find out why.

November 13 is our next scheduled podcast, unless something gets in the way. Until then, try sleeping outside one night to see what it feels like to be homeless. Thanks for your support. Tell a friend.
