Falling Through the Fall

  Listen

This podcast is somewhat like a variety show. Among the topics:

Heads Up, Animal Lovers: One mouse click a day will provide .6 bowls of dogfood for homeless dogs. That's right. Go to www.theanimalrescuesite.com and click. Then put it on your desktop and do it daily. Millions of bowls of dogfood have been contributed this year alone. Great project!

Drumroll: Looks like the samanddeidreshow will stream soon on KDX, a non-commercial streaming radio, heard on www.Shoutcast.com, thanks to an invitation from Mike Charles, aka Carl Blare. Watch out Rush, here we come!

FEMA Is Truly a Dirty Word: We first turn to the Wednesday AP story, "New Orleans Aquarium Fights Red Tape", which describes aquarium officials' decision to send a team on an expedition to catch fish to replace those lost in Katrina at a cost of $99,766, having a commitment of $616,000 from FEMA. Rather than being praised for having saved half a million, the aquarium cannot get reimbursed from FEMA. Why not? You'll have to join us to find out. To add insult to injury, we then discuss a report that those FEMA trailers actually cost you and us in excess of $230,000 each, even though each cost only $14,000 to construct. Why? Maintenance, baby. The ultimate irony? Seems permanent houses could have been built for $30,000 each. Listen up for the obscene details.

Alabama A.G. May Be Buried in Sex Toys: This is a great segment. We say only in Alabama can it be legal to possess these toys but illegal to sell them. Are grocery stores next?  Tune in for the juicy details.

Diane Feinstein Under Fire: Apparently the good Democratic Senator from California intends to vote to immunize telephone companies who participated in the administration's illegal snooping of calls and emails and some people want her removed from the judiciary committee as a result. The vote is today. Call Chair Harry Reid's office if you agree.

Recession in Hands of Hugo Chavez? Possibly, according to Michael Rowan and Douglas Schoen's, "Will Chavez pull the trigger?" published Wednesday in the L.A. Times. Seems December 2 is an important ballot day in Venezuela, and the outcome could lead to Chavez suspending oil production, an event that would lead to absolute disaster. Listen up for details.

We'll be back Monday, November 19. Hang in there. Spread the word and visit our store! Thanks for your support.
