Fun Stuff:
Wine vs. Water: Thanks to our friend Wanda, we are able to share with our listeners a very powerful reason to drink wine as opposed to water. Tune in!
Drum Roll P.S.: We reported last week that the Sam and Deidre Show was going to be included on
www.kdxradio.com 's programming. We're delighted to report that Carl Blare has indeed put us on as promised, from 8-9 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Go there. Read his blogs, which we find extremely amusing. Thanks to Mr. Blare!
Serious Stuff:
Mike Whitney's "Pentagon Cover Up: 15,000 or more US casualties in Iraq War", published Saturday in
www.informationclearinghouse.info is a lesson in real addition. In contrast to the Pentagon's producing a document to CBS showing 2,200 suicides between 1995 and 2007 among "active duty" soldiers, CBS discovered from veteran's suicide data collected from 45 states that there were more than 6,256 suicides among those who served in the armed services in 2005 alone. That's 120 a week, ladies and gentlemen. Then through averaging over the time we've been in Iraq, Whitney concludes that suicides plus combat-related deaths and casualties must total in excess of 15,000 US troops. Sam also weighs in with a Chris Floyd publication, Arthur Silber's "Stop the Lies, Stop the Funding, Stop the Genocide, Stop, Stop!" Listen up.
Thursday, Mario Roy published "$3,500 Billion!" in La Presse. You can imagine what he's talking about. We definitely have some comments. And so will you when you find out precisely how much we're paying for this war effort.
Continuing Erosion of Rights: A must- listen commentary on Jeff Knaebel's "The U.S. Congress Legislates Genocide of the Mind", published Saturday in
www.informationclearinghouse.info. Seems we now have a "Thought Crimes" Bill, HR 1955, which passed with 404 votes. And its contents make us wonder how long it will be before we're rounded up and hauled off for speaking the truth.
Enabling FEMA's Continuing Failures: When you join us for our comments on Isaiah J. Poole's "Mississippi Hypocrisy" published Friday in TomPaine.commonsense and Spencer Hsu's "FEMA Accused Of Wasting More Katrina Funding" published Friday in the Washington Post, you'll be simply furious. Particularly when contrasting this information with the fact that there were 35.5 million hungry people in the US in 2006, according to USA Today, and private firms offer special treatment to the wealthy in times of disaster, according to Naomi Klein's "Rapture Rescue 911: Disaster Response for the Chosen", published in the November 19 issue of The Nation. We want to know how long the powers that be are going to continue to enable this nightmare.
Intriguing Stuff: You'll have to join us to find out what it is.
We'll be back Monday, November 26, so that our web genius can take a Thanksgiving break. Us too. Until then, have a happy holiday and stay safe.
Thanks for your support.
